We all have them. We all have to go through them. The terrible days and experiences that occur and fall upon us. Accept it with much patience and persevere to overcome these challenges. This is what makes our lives meaningful. Well a test from the Lord? or maybe not. I am no Christian but sometimes one has to find a reason to explain things that happen to us. Anyway you be the judge. Here is my story:
A normal Thursday like any other ordinary day. I for one was looking forward to Thursday night (25th June 2009) which was Help's Red Carpet Affair- Annual Ball for A Level Graduates. Feeling like a part of Help University College, I had earlier decided to go and paid for the ticket two months ago. Well, I spent arguably 6 great and awesome months at Help UC, making great friends who are so cool, friendly, fun, amazing, funny and also have the potential for making great success stories. well, for this prom, I have already spent around RM 600, well for the shirt, tie, slacks, and Emporio Armani cologne. Yea, I was looking forward to it. Had my shoes polished on Wednesday night too. Oh yea. RM 140 for the ticket too.
College was as usual. Nothing much happened. Yea. At 3pm, I left Taylor's, smiling excitedly as the time to the prom event was getting closer and closer. Stopped to pump petrol at the Shell Subang petrol Kiosk near the Toyota showroom. And was on my way back home via the usual route. Fed highway and LDP. Traffic was smooth. Not heavy at all. I figured I could reach home in half an hour at most. At an average speed of 80 kmph I was driving. At that moment, I would never have predicted what would unfold next...
3.15 pm. Driving near Kelana Jaya LRT station. As I was at the straight stretch, travelling on the fast lane, a white Perodua Kancil in front of me applied emergency brakes. It was rather weird as why would someone do so when traffic is clear? Well I didn't know too. But hearing his brakes, I slammed mine too. Fortunately, I had kept a distance so I managed to slow down in time. BUT as I slowed down, a Black Proton Iswara suddenly appeared and slammed into my car, 5 seconds after I slowed down. My car was forcefully accelerated for 5 metres before I managed to stop it completely. Therefore, this car was not tailgating me because there was a 5 second delay before he actually hit me. He was probably speeding and maybe not focusing on the cars slowing down in front of him and rammed into me. Funny cos I never saw him coming, looking from my rear view mirror. Upon slamming into me, my head jerked forwards and backwards and I lost consciousness for a few seconds I think. Loss of vision too. Then, when I realised what had happened, I immediately switched off my engine and got my car keys out. Checking my car, I realised that the whole back hood had sprung upwards to a vertical position, the whole bumper had caved inwards, my tyre was blocked by the bumper and that my reverse sensors were shattered and protruding like "hanging testicles". I left my car to confront the Fu*king idiot who clearly does not know how to drive his car. He was busy calling his friend and completely ignored me for a moment. Son of a b*tch. after he called, he started soft (like acknowledging that he was at fault). He said in cantonese, " Both of us didn't want this to happen and well let's not blame anyone". Okay, at least he is not behaving like an asshole and denying everything. Then all of a sudden, he asked me what I am gonna do? I said, look. I called my Dad. He will be here. We will talk about this. Obviously I abstained from picking an argument with him as he looked like some thug who is clearly older than me. During the tensed situation, a white myvi stopped to help. He was actually the boss of a workshop. He called his workers to come to the scene to help in clearing the mess to prevent traffic congestion.
Yea so it was cleared and the cars were brought to the nearby housing estate for further action. My dad and his colleague arrived and confronted the guy. Now the F*CKING idiot changed into defensive mode and said, "Ask your son how he drove first. He caused the accident". I was engulfed in fury at that time. If I were not who I am now, clearly he would never see broad daylight again. I explained to dad that it would never be my fault as clearly I kept my distance and braked in time to avoid hitting the car in front of me. Clearly this MOFO was not alert to realise that. Anyway, no use arguing with people from the lower class of society and have no sense of responsibility and logic at all. Zero cognitive ability too and of course, irresponsible drivers. Even the workshop boss tried to calm that dude down and acted as our mediator. We stayed a distance away from him. So, due to the extent of the damage, clearly insurance compensation from his company was the only option. I was required to file a police report immediately. My dad and his colleague had to leave to return to work and before that, one of the workshop guys was to take me to the police station in PJ to file the report. Before leaving, the boss who had spoken to the other dude asked us not to report that dude's name and IC, but just his car number plate. Apparently, he has some sort of criminal record or has no driving licence or something like that and was freaked out when I mentioned police report. Oh yea, he didn't even own the car. It was his friend's car or something. Melaka plate. And my sixth sense tells me that he was going to ask his friend to pretend to be the driver or something in his place. Anyway, I didn't even get his name and didn't want to know.
The malay employee of the workshop brought me to the station in PJ. It was quite a quick process and I spent only an hour there. WOW. Kudos to the police force for being so efficient. While waiting at the initial accident reporting place, this Malay officer was so friendly and funny. Speaking cantonese to me. I was entertained and chatted with him. LOL. the only time I smiled and laughed in the last 2 hours. Yea, the report was filed. And I had to proceed to another office to meet a Sergeant. Waited, waited, waited. Seeing police officers moving in and out of the office and compound was clearly new. I kind of enjoyed looking at the guns and trying to identify them. Revolvers, Glocks.... Lol.... Eventually it my turn to meet the Sergeant. He was one big Malay officer. Lol.... Yea he smiled and me, cracked a few jokes and asked me a few questions. I still remember. He asked:
1) "Siapa itu? Cina, Melayu, India?" I said Cina. Nampak sikit punk macam gangster.
2) " Kereta apa?" " Saga," I replied.
3) "Kereta you kena teruk?" "Teruk." and I related the damage to him.
4) "Dia ada kata apa?" " Erm, dia ini mula-mula baik, lepas itu marah-marah dan cuba mengugut saya, tuan.'
5) He laughed like mad...... "Ugut you? You mahu saya keluar saman untuk dia? Sudah salah pergi langgar orang masih mahu bersikap taikor." "Haha.... Tak payah lah, tuan."
6) "Ok lah. Selesai. Sekarang tunggu dia report. Kalau ada cerita pelik macam you reverse kereta tengah highway baru saya akan call you. HAHA." he laughed while saying that. "HAHAHAHAHA. omg.. this guy his really a joker. Baik, tuan. terima kasih".
7) "Ok. Boleh pergi. Saya pun mahu kemas meja. Takut ada ular nanti. Lepas tu balik." he said with a grin. " OMG... I beh tahan. I laughed like mad..... "
You see, These officers just made me smile at this bad time. Who ever said the police are a unfriendly bunch? With personnel like these, I think we do have a people- friendly force. They aren't as serious and fierce I expected them to be. So, now I am back home blogging about this unfortunate event. Also, I found out from the workshop dudes adn my dad that the guy's car is in the police station compound together with mine but that guy still has not filed his report. What a coward. He must be up to no good. But now, I let the police force do their job and let him face the full force of the law.
My beloved accident-free Vios until today's incident is going to be repaired in the workshop from 2 weeks to a month. My accident free record in 3 years- gone. Although this was never my fault. No car for a month. now, I would have to take the shuttle bus to Taylor's everyday for a month. sigh.... Missing out on the prom that I was so eagerly anticipating sucks too. Well, I was not in the right frame of mind to attend. Besides, I still have a slight pain at the back of my skull, perhaps due to the accident. Also, I did not have enough time to prepare as I only reached home at 6 when the prom was going to start at 7. sigh... Missing out the chance to meet all my Help friends, SASA comrades, classmates, dancing with the gorgeous girls and the chance of having a good time. sigh... accidents are never fun. So for you guys out there, be safe, and try to avoid ass*oles on the road if you can. Off for now to get some rest. Cheers. :-)
